in public debate re: the Katrina Relief bill. Wants Congress remember it's on teevee.

1. Seems reasonable
Hundreds of thousands at risk of starvation and death right here in America, and this clown is concerned about how Congress will be perceived? Very simple. The republican-controlled congress will be seen as a hapless failure, democrat and republican alike. Look into your right-wing fundamentalist neo-con souls -- if that isn't an oxymoron -- and ask yourself if what is happening is right. Then tell me how you think you'll be perceived. The answer is pretty clear.

Strangely enough, there are a lot of people who remember how quickly they acted in the Terry Schiavo case, when political grandstanding and pandering to the religious loons was the order of the day. If they can act that promptly and decisively in a matter that really didn't concern Congress, how much more urgently should they be able to act when it really counts?

I certainly hope the DNC is keeping track of this happy crappy for extensive use in 2006.
