They're in 100% "save Bush's ass" propaganda mode now. It'll probably be that way from here on out.

Those 3 days of honesty will go down the memory hole.

1. i don't think so --- this is momentary - and it IS good news...
.... but they have too many people already asking questions; i don't think they'll back off. Not yet.

maybe i'm just too hopeful.

2. Wait for Anderson Cooper tonight
He said yesterday he was sick of politicians congratulating themselves while people were dying.

29. that's an excellent point
i also hate when tv people (won't call them journalists) thank their peers for reporting (lying) about a story.

14. They'll never give a correct figure on how many died
These are poor people, black people and elderly. The number is going to deflated to an 'acceptable' level.

21. I don't think so, either. Kyra Phillips, for instance, is still
clearly angry about the pathetically slow, inadequate response.

And I don't think that calling that convoy a "convoy of hope" is whoring for the administration, as others here have suggested. If I were one of the people there desperate for food and water, I'd definitely see it as a convoy of hope.

Now, if the media were to let the administration off the hook later, forgetting their own anger and questions, I'd think Rove had won again. But my own feeling is that it won't happen, and this has done permanent damage to BushCo's credibility with the media.

let them know we want to see it all, not just what they think we should see. Their coverage has been really good, keep it up. Three cheers for MSM for once!

13. The media is locked out now
If you look closely, all the footage is on tape and it's being controlled. Even Bush's photo ops are on tape. I haven't seen the word "LIVE" on screen since Bush arrived.

are not gonna play along. Those reporters are getting a serious education and trying to pass it along to America. The emperor has no clothes and he is letting people die of thirst.

27. And don't forget about the
disease that's about to set in. All those poor folks have been wading around in toxic, polluted water for five days. No food, no water to drink... They are going to get sick. Just like they do in third world countries.
Those people have been murdered. Plain and simple.

16. I don't think this will last, after the initial rush of covering bush and
the arrival of the supplies, etc, the media will go back to covering the length of time it took, who was responsible.

I think it is appropriate to cover the arrival of relief, it certainly makes me feel that at least they are starting to do their job and the people in NO are going to FINALLY get help, no thanks to bush and his bushbots.

A reporter just asked Pickles about the "race" angle in this tragedy i.e. blacks being left to die. That's a pretty hard question to ask a first lady. I was impressed.
