The Bush Photo Op: Let the MEDIA KNOW! |
|
Write CNN and let'm know you were not fooled by this blatant use of the desperate situation in NO to prop up Bush! Keep the heat on them or they will take a big gulp of the Koolaide and be lost again. http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?65

My, my, my, our fearless leader was there just in time to ride into the Big Easy with a caravan of food and water in tow to help those poor, black folks, just like Jesus feeding the masses. As the Church Lady would say: "How conveeeeenient". I can see right through you, GW. You still have no clothes.

13. I don't know if we're talking about the same CNN photo-op, but about |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 01:47 PM by Seabiscuit
a half hour ago CNN showed a split screen with really bedraggled looking black people getting off helicopters at some airport somewhere, on the left side of the screen, with the CNN spokeswoman yammering away about something, while the right side of the screen showed Shrub with a long-sleeved shirt rolled up partway up his forearms to give the impression that he's "working hard", handing out bottles of water and packaged meals to exclusively white people, who just happened to be dressed in brand new slacks, t-shirts of various colors, and one old white guy had on a brand new hat and a brand new set of sun glasses. These purported "victims" were shaking his hand and hugging him.
No comment from CNN about where this phony photo-op took place or who the fuck these well-heeled people were.
Don't look for Shrub handing out food and water on the polluted, rat-infested, dead-body laden street in front of the New Orleans Convention center - someone would shoot his vile, vapid ass.

I am disgusted by the use of the victims of Katrina as a photo-op by the President. How ironic that he appears in the Gulf Coast region the same day that aid FINALLY makes its way into the area. Where was this aid 2 or 3 days ago. How can we have large numbers of people dying of dehydration after their supposed "rescue". The photo of the president kissing children in Biloxi is not going to erase the images of death and anguish I have seen this week.

I am thoroughly disgusted at how our President sidestepped the real problems in New Orleans and instead posed for a blatant photo op. If the man really cared, he would have cancelled his schedule on Monday and Tuesday and helped oversee the obviously desperate relief effort needed in New Orleans. Instead, he gave a speech on Medicare, attended a V-J celebration, and posed for another photo op with a guitar. He is 4 days late and even now, he is coming up short. There are people dying in a major US city. Right now. Quit smiling for the camera, Bush!

Bush would not dare go to New Orleans. He will see a crowd of angry black people, who want his head.

11. I'm so pissed I wrote twice... |

If we should ever find out the supplies of water and food for New Orleans were held up for even ten minutes to coincide with Bush's "entrance" to that city, he should be run from office. Because that is what it looked like to this woman.

Stop propping up the Bush Administration and FEMA for finally getting off their asses. They are just now getting supplies and the President is just now visiting the disater area - 5 days after the fact!! This is an abomination... they knew this was a catagory 5 on FRIDAY. They should have had a coordinated effort to evacuate that town (and not just a verbal warning) on SATURDAY!! And for Bush not knowing that the levees were in danger of breaking, well he should have read the report BEFORE he cut the levee funding in 2004. Don't prop this phoney up - HOLD HIM ACCAOUNTABLE!!!

18. I thanked CNN for their hard hitting questions of the past few days.... |
|
AND I thanked them for pointing out that the footage of Bush's compassionate walkabout was canned. (They did, ya know.) Then I told them how much I hated the photo split-screen effect of taped Presidential huggies and National Guard rescuers cutting through the flood. (Although I actually haven't seen a split screen yet...probably just missed it.) I'm willing to wait and see how they play this blatant staging. I don't think they've gone back to the Koolaid yet.
