Gingrich, trashing Bush, proposes appointing Giuliani to relief effort
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 01:38 PM by BurtWorm
His question is good. His suggestion is typical empty Republican symbolism. Giuliani would SUCK in that position.

Even Republicans were criticizing Bush and his administration for the sluggish relief effort. ''I think it puts into question all of the Homeland Security and Northern Command planning for the last four years, because if we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack?'' said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

He urged Bush to name former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as the White House point person for relief efforts. Rep. John Sweeney, R-N.Y., also suggested Giuliani or former Secretary of State Colin Powell or retired Gen. Tommy Franks to take charge of the relief efforts.

3. As much as I dislike Rudy
he did know how to run a city and he didn't do that bad a job of it. There were a lot of visible improvements during his term.

7. WHat the hell is Newt up to???
He's seen partenring with Hillary.....Now he is giving a big thumbs up to a moderate like Rudy who has presidential aspirationsm but will never get hard right support because he is proc-choice and pro-gay.

WHat is Newt doing? It looks like he want to get inthe game again...but in what role? Why endorse ths skills of someone on his left?

Next thing you know he is going to be railing against the NEOcons anf the Bush-Hastert-Delay-Frist Budget. It is as if He wants to be a ROckefeller Republican,

He is wierding me out man...just wierding me out.
