Anybody notice a huge difference in the media today??
Yesterday and the day before, the media were really mixing with the people, walking through the convention center, etc., today it seems like the media is all on these overhead, centralized areas, like at the airport, and not down on the streets. I bet one quick step of the white house (Karl Rove) was to IMMEADIATLY demand that the media STOP talking to people who were clear refugees. In other words, from here on out, the media coverage will be tightly controlled.

2. Their bosses heard what they were saying and the
talking points were distributed...

Karl was alittle late. I'll bet he was just getting back from vacation, too...

3. Yesterday the guns were in the hands of the people, now they
are in the hands of the SS and military. Reporters get their hineys shot in Iraq for reporting truth.

4. Yeah I believe that.
But I am surprised the media would agree with that.

9. Didn't we hear yesterday media wasn't allowed in the astrodome?
I noticed on NewsHour that the people they talked to in Houston were people out in the parking lot (who weren't the worst-off -- they weren't anxious to get food, clothing, sleep inside).

I would think that that would be on Rove's wish list: don't talk to the people. Let us mediate.

14. I know, nothing is real anymore, even on the news channels
and as hard as it was to look at some of the pictures over the past few days, and as mad and sad as it made me...it was compelling because it was REAL and the cameras were showing PEOPLE talking instead of just the anchors with their plastic-perfect hair and smiles. It just felt true, awful but true, and now: it feels canned.

13. Well, that explains it then
I was told to watch CNN because their coverage has been good. I figured out how to get the cable to work (no easy feat) and they're spewing crap today.

15. It's probably a bit more subtle than that
they were told they are helping to spread the fire of civil unrest and it's for the best of NO that we all should be united -- crap like that. The Dems probably got the same "message." I suspect it will change again once he leaves the area because he said a bunch of stupid things and I think it will come back to sting him, esp. since the huge problems have not gone away and we will have fatalities #s soon (unless it's secret because it will aid terrorists).

17. please call them refugees
Victims makes it sound like they are victims of the storm, when in fact they are victims of governmental incompetence.

They are refugees...people driven from their homes and seeking refuge.
