5. Great question, Oreo!
Can you imagine the coming classified ads?

You'll need a wheel barrow to transport your daily paper!

3. Why does your neighbor hate America so much?
Isn't she proud of the fact that she can drive the biggest mass-produced gas guzzling behemoth on the planet? That's what makes America great! A small personal sacrifice like $100 for a tank of gas, and she turns her back on America. Shameful.

4. She may be seeing the light...
But if she peels that blasted yellow ribbon and "W" sticker off the back for good, you'll know she finally gets it.

6. Good luck. I remember stories in the 1970's about folks coming
in to a car dealer with 6 month old Lincolns wanting to trade even for a Pinto, and getting turned down. Wonder what the waiting lists are like for Prius's these days?

8. It's not how much it costs to fill the tank...
...it's how often you have to fill it.

My Windstar has a massive gas tank on it. At the moment it's costing me about CAN$75 to fill it - but it'll be quite awhile before I have to refill.

It's only a six-banger and I've pulled the seats to lighten the load.

9. I was at the airport Wed waiting to be picked up
I saw a Hummer H2 cruising the passenger pickup area looking for someone. He kept trying to stop and wait and the cops kept telling him to move. After the third time I went closer to hear what Hummer guy was saying. He was whining to the cops that he "can't afford to keep circling like this". Then to my absolute shock, the cop looked at the guys "W" sticker(c'mon, you knew he had one) and said, "well you get gas with the president you have". The cop saw me laughing and smiled and waved. When my wife finally got there the guy was still circling I had counted a dozen laps already. LMAO, you'd think the guy would have broken down and parked the damn thing in the lot.

10. That is absolutely hilarious!
Kudos to the cop for telling it like it is. Wish I could have been there to see the look on the driver's face.

15. Too damn cheap to pay for parking.
Thinks NOTHING of the $600 a month lease payments, and the $30 fill-ups when he first got it didn't phase him, but $6 to PARK?????

GASP!

11. I've been in the south of France for 2 months now, and we've seen 2 SUVs
in all this time.

I wish I was kidding, but THE HUMMER was from OREGON and the other, a SUBURBAN, was from GEORGIA.

I kid you not. I swear, I'm NOT kidding.

Fucking idiots. Those fucking vehicles don't FIT on these roads.

Damn.

People were pointing and laughing at the hummer, BTW.

12. My 10 year old said soon we wouldn't see SUVs or big pickups anymore
I had to point out to him that nobody else would buy them and that cars that get good gas mileage are now in short supply. Like everything else. He's very, very, VERY angry at this government and says that their incompetence and greed will force us all to live like "pioneers." He's such a good, smart boy! ;)

16. I hope he's right.
Living like "Pioneers" I think I could handle. Living in a world like "Mad Max: Thunderdome" scares the pee out of me, though.
And I think it's coming...

13. She just said that EVERONE in New Orleans is looting, etc.
"I hope none of them end up being placed over here" (Naples, Florida)

Needless to say I went off on her. I told her there are a small number of people who took TVs. etc. but that they have gone for 4 to 5 days without water and food and that they had to get in to get supplies.

I told her I felt very bad for them and it could have been us here in a mess instead of them.

I almost wish it would have come here - to be honest. We could have handled it and of course, we would have had tons of aid. I honestly feel guilty for having shelter and water and food. My kitties are rolling around happy and it makes me feel soooo guilty. It hits me hard because we were hit by a few hurricanes here and were without electricity for a 24 hours and no gas for about 4 days and that was pretty much it.
