This shouldn't be about saving Landrieu's ass she could have spoken up just like the mayor and the black caucus and now they are telling us she didn't because she was afraid she might lose her job?

21. No, not lose her job, get MORE services and goods wittheld |
|
longer.
Look, I don't like Landrieu. She's DLC and she's way too conservative for me. And I was at first right with Anderson Cooper for laying into her yesterday for her "thanks to President (sic) Bush" shit.
Then I realized, she really IS doing what she believes is the best. She knew that goods and services were being withheld, and she also knows just how belligerant and murderously vindictive Bush is. She didn't have the LUXURY of lambasting or criticizing him -- not if she wanted to try to save lives.
We can reasonably argue whether her strategy is right or even valid, but you gotta admit, that her "If I make him mad, he'll make it worse for us" is 100% valid. AND she knew as we all do, LIVES ARE AT STAKE. I'd have done the same damn thing. You might have too.

20. Well, I can kind of see that considering how squeamish the media |
|
has been and how fearful they sound after sounding off. And look what they're going to do to the other Dem in LA.

15. Exactly. This polite and skittish crap does not work. |
|
Strike while the iron is hot.
I remember all the Republicans after 9-11 talking about how it was not a time for placing blame, and all the Dems who avoided doing just that. A few weeks later, the REPUBLICANS were blaming the DEMOCRATS for 9-11.
Don't give them an inch.

Picking on the governor and mayor is intelligible, at least, but this is clearly a Dem attack. But wil the MSM play along?

|
Landrieu seemed pretty useless yesterday when CNN was interviewing her and she did the standard politician bullshit, and then even more of it after Anderson Cooper called her on it.
