I just googled "Football fans hurricane" |
|
and it appears that Bama and FSU and other fans are now being asked to give up their hotel rooms for the hurricane evacuees.
This is a change from yesterday where it was being reported that in Tallahassee at least it looked like evacuees were going to have to leave.
Good news. Wow I just had a chill go up my spine and a tear in my eye. People are good.

I talked to a friend who is a huge Gator fan and he said the SEC boards were pissed off about this, all of them.

5. Those football boards represent a very, very small fraction of.... |
|
...the most rabid football fans. They DO NOT represent the views of the vast majority of football fans that are more than happy to help.

9. The Astrodome isn't used for football anymore |
|

The Houston Texans play at Reliant Stadium, which is next to the Astrodome. I heard it's being used for evacuees now too, as is the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
However, in Austin, on the UT campus, there is a huge tent set up with stacks of bottled water and other supplies being brought in around it. Has to be all nice tomorrow for the alumni coming for the UT football game.
