I can't believe I am even capable of thinking this ............. |
|
As I watch teevee and see that supplies and water are finally starting to flow into New Orleans and that there may now be some real relief to the oppressive suffereing those poor people have had to endure for nearly a week, I can NOT believe I am thinking that this works to idiot son's advantage.
I want these people to get anything and everything they need and I wanted them to get it on Monday .... not on Friday.
But now that they're getting it, I have to stop myself from thinking that it isn't good simply because it is good for idiot son.
Good LORD what have I become?
I don't **want** to think like this ....... but I am.
I feel awful. I'm not like this. I'm not.

And it's unproductive! Know you are enlightened and compassionate because you recognize these thoughts in yourself and feel bad. Then kick the thought to curb and move ahead. You know he's an idiot son, he's screwing up left and right, people are not going to forget this, and even if every relief effort goes perfectly from now on, he's only going to screw something else up that will piss off the people.
So to recap:
Stop beating yourself up.
The Adminstration is incompetent and will continue to screw themselves with their own arrogance.

7. The damage is done, if the media does their job |
|
the administration is finished. Today's photo-op shows that they withheld relief until * arrived for his pictures. This is at the very least criminal negligence and at worst homicide.

13. The media .... yeah ....... |
|
They sure as hell looked like they grew a spine this week ... but even today they seem to be going back to their usual complicit posture.
These pirates have been able to spin themselves out of EVERYTHING that ***we*** know dead to rights they have done flat-assed wrong.
And their base and the easily led idiots who pay attention to nothing will see him as doing his job ... and that the delay was due to the hardness of the hard work they're always saying they're doing.
As an aside ... mentioning the media hits the nail square on the head. If ONLY we had an **honest** media (not a left or partisan media - just one that is HONEST) we would not be in half the trouble we're in now. The voting issues woule already be on their way to being resolved. This tragedy might have been better managed. But for sure the turth of it would have come out. As it stands now with our media ...... I doubt the turth will ever be widely known.

8. Don't feel bad...you don't want those people to suffer.... |
|
..and you don't want Bush to look good....because this is all his fault. A lot of people feel the same way.

9. you, we all just plain know that if * gets away with this, far worse is to |
|
come to the very most vulnerable...
who will be all the MORE vulnerable if he gets away with this.
that is agonizing to feel. seeing any threat of that happening is torment.
be kind to your deeply compassionate and honest anguished conscience, self.
peace.....

12. Oh, God, these people suffered way too long... |
|
too little, too late.
Whether it works to B*'s advantage right now is sooooo not important... but I trust in the long run he will pay for his callousness.

I know what you mean, but the important thing is to get the situation resolved and the people comforted in the best possible way that they can. Unfortunately, we need to put personal feelings aside and hope * comes through, whether he looks good or not. I am sure that those people standing on their roofs don't care whether or not * looks good. But, by the way, what is with the shooting at the helecopters? Angry or not, I would think that this is the last thing they would want to do.

16. I understand; It's reflexive. |
|
Think of it this way: it doesn't make any difference whether Bush looks good or not. He's already won a second term, and he will not be able to run for a third. So be happy that help is finally coming in, even if it is too late, and even if Bush gets a little boost. Any boost to Bush's approval ratings is like kicking field goals after the game's already over.

17. You have seen the enemy and it is you |
|
You are right to question feelings and impulses like this that you have. Not every single thing in life is political and the worse among us make it so. It's fine to dislike/ hate/ loath/ detest Bush. But you can't let that prism skew your basic humanity (that you have loads and loads of - I know because I've read many of your previous posts). You can't see every event through it's political consequences or you really would be "them". You're not. We're not. But you did just glimpse the dark side.
