Today proves if you have money, move to the head of the line
I can't believe that they are evacuating the people who were in hotels over the people who have been in extreme conditions for days. No wonder they need such a military presence.

Edwards was right. There are two Americas, and if you live in the wrong one, your life is apparently expendable.

And America is shocked, shocked, I tell you that this disenfranchised group would disrespect authority and "civil" society.

If you were subjected to this every day of your life, would you be just a little angry? How much would it take to push you over the edge?

3. It seems terrible, but I also have heard the opposite.
So which is it?

In addition, part of the problem may be that the tourists have a place to go to, while they have to find shelters to people in other positions.

But anyway, the evacuation plan was a PERFECT example of what you are describing. I dont know why more people are not angry about that?

4. Most people with money got out of NO before the storm hit
The city really needs to have an evacuation plan to get the poor and disabled out before anyone expects to have the state or federal government bail them out.

supposed to get the resources to do that?

Blame the victims, blame the mayor, blame the governor...

How about the federal govt. do its job and what a wonderful debut for Homeland Security.

7. I sure hope it opens some eyes
It wasn't just a matter of race, but of economics. The hospitals that didn't get evacuated served the poor as well.
