CNN during lunch today... lethal force against looters.
White female dem governor authorizing lethal force against looters.

CNN shows video clips of lots of people fleeing. And they were ALL black.

1. Lethal force against people who were THREATENING others.
I agree 100% with that.

3. So you believe the sentence for a threat
is death by firearm, without trial?

5. That's what happens under Martial Law
It's NECESSARY to restore order to the city so those dying can be saved!

7. This is what happens when there is not enough manpower
it comes down to sheer expedience. Same thing in Fallujah -- instead of sending 10 men into a building to clear it out, just blast it with a tank.

If you had ten NG for each block in NOLA this isn't even an issue.

4. Looting is one thing but groups are also killing people
A friend who is a doctor down there is dealing with people shooting at him when he loads patients on stretchers. There are people looting struggling to survive but there are also murderous people and gangs well armed and killing people.

8. The rare criminals with guns - or druggies - have stopped the rescue
of thousands. Saving lives is the most important thing. They have been warned to drop their guns and get out of town. The government should have had psychological control on Monday. For some reason..Bush chose not to. Knowing full well that there would be escalating violence. Perhaps Bush needs to "bond" with his base and racist T.V. is what will do the trick. So they can spew their anger and hatred all together on people struggling and lump in the stragglers with the criminals. Hitler needed an out - a place to put his hatred of himself, a place to put the anger & adolescent sensibilities of his followers. Hitler choose jews & gays & the mentally ill to be his scapegoats. This vacuum on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ..with the predictable escalating law-lessness is the perfect tool for Bush to bond with his base..and they scapegoat people who may not have even voted at all - people who are minding their own business and their meager un-insured possessions - people who have done nothing to either of them - so that Bush & his supporters can pat each other on the back and reflect back to each other their cleanliness, their godliness, their total goodness, their perfection, and all the bad feelings are dumped on people who they do not know and who they seek to not understand. Why else would the head of fema say "we should not be judging these people or asking what were the reasons why they staid - they were told to leave and they didn't - it is not my job to judge why". Well actually Mr. Fema..it is your job to understand why many could not follow the evacuation order. You are in charge of Fema. Fema is in charge of the aftermath of disasters. You need to know exactly why people had to stay or felt they had to stay.
