Jesse Jackson speaking truth on CNN NOW!!!!!!!!
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 06:42 PM by Solon
Talking about how, while the Mayor has SOME responsibility for the foul up of the disaster, but also talking about the cuts in funding to the Army corp of Engineers, where the LA NG actually are at, etc. Anderson Cooper wasn't even that tough, though a little to insistant that the Mayor should have shouldered responsibility, BS in my opinion.

ON EDIT: Just missed it, for those who didn't see it.

1. "Incompetence and indifference are both unacceptable" Jackson said.
Also brought up the fact that black people got slow response on rescue BECAUSE they were black.

3. Hardball was pondering racism
His reporter (didn't get name) was telling story of young boy walked miles to try to get to bus, empty hopes, carrying baby brother -- somehow the reporter saw then that he knew this was a racial and economic problem. Talked about how reporters were there amongst the crowds, but ambulance would be sitting there with a/c on and driver said wouldn't go - said "I told my wife I wouldn't take any chances." Reporter said, yes, some thugs but just poor and despirate people. Mathews just basically asked if people felt dissed.
The atrocities are so obvious, "they" must be seeing it! Racial, economic, incompetence -- I've been focusing on more incompetence and total stupidity, but beginning to think maybe racism/economic was part of it. Almost looked like deliberately letting them die - survival of the fittist -- culling out the weak, the ill, old and young. I'm so sick at my stomach.
