David Brooks said it.
I like the sound of it.
One opened a tragedy in American politics, the other may end it.

1. He was, actually, amazingly sincere and accurate |

he even said "looking at Bush today I understood how Mark Shields feels when he watches him." That was breathtaking. Oliphant was careful not to pile on, saying it transcends parties, etc and I was a bit disappointed about that but he is right -- Southern Dems have been enablers for years and often, as we all know, can be hardly distinguished from their Republican counterparts. I also thought after I listened to their discussion how we need John Edwards now to take a leading opposition role with his two Americas theme. I want him to come out of hiding and for Kerry to step aside and let Edwards lead.

4. We'll have to watch the Bush clingers to see if they drop him. |

When even they don't want the association, we'll know.
