2. Its more a question for your wife than for you and DU |
|
she is the one with the 21 mo old and would have to handle the change.

3. If it were me, yes, but you have to make that decision based |
|
on how your wife and you feel about it, imo.

4. Tough call. Can you help in other ways? |
|
I think it's important to do something, but your wife will have her hands full with you out of town and your daughter to look after. Can you find another way to help that would feel as gratifying and as helpful?

6. It's wonderful that you have the heart to even ask the question.. |
|
(((Perky)))) Thank you, for caring!
You really have to discuss this with your wife. She will appreciate being included on such an important decision. She's not selfish if she says no. Having a new baby is really hard and takes time, adjustment and commitment.
Talk to her and decide together.
blessings to you both!

Do not make the decision based on what people tell you to do.

Nothing in my initial post was inaccurate..but my wife's and I's motivation for hosting is based fully and completely on our Christian faith...nothing more...nothing less. We still may host and trust God to take care of any fears we may have.
Now Had I stared with the subject I am a Christian should I host ? Many people on this site would have chimed in with asinine comments about me caring more about squirreling a way a few dollars than I am with feeding and clothing the homeless.
And that I am a hypocrite just like all other Christians.
The Point? It's simple really: Get off our backs!
I was born a democrat, I have never strayed from my family's strong democratic heritage. When I was Born a second time it re-enforced my democratic roots rather than put them at risk.
I am deeply offended by the the constant undertone on DU regarding Christians as a group. I readily agree are Pharisaical elements within Christianity. I contend with them every week.
I don't bash people on DU over the head with my Bible or tel anyone here that they are going to Hell. But certainly elements on DU are more than willing to tel the whole lot of Christians that precise thing.
It is as offensive and as hypocritical and as shameful as those idiots on the right. But the sadder truth is that with every christian stereotype some element of DU comes up you reinforce the view of both independent and republican voters that democrats are anti-religion. We are supposed to be the party of the big tent,,,the party of tolerance,
But I will be God-damned, if I am going to sit on my hands while some elements on DU are going to contend as the Republicans do that you can not be both a Christan and a democrat at the same time.
The lack of tolerance un this site is astonishing at times. Christians are not responsible for the flooding and many in every church in this country grieve deeply and donate considerable time and money and would gladly open their homes to the victims of this tragedy and this travesty.. I dare say say that many christian are doing ar more then many of the liberals on this site... based not on out politics, but in spite of it . So for the love of God...we did not create the flooding....so get of our collective back about it.
If some of the things said about Christan's on this site were said about Jews. you would immediately call for the person to be banned for being an anti-semite. Not so with CHristians we are fair game.
No I am not a freeper, I am a regular contributor to DU. and No I do not feel the least bit persecuted....I am, just sick to death of insulting and dull-witted belligerence against Christianity.
ANd if you think you have the moral right to force me to sit in the back row of the democratic bus solely because I have faith in a loving and unseen God then I want to firmly suggest that you are no different then those you are so critical on the right hand of the political spectrum. THis is my party to dernit and you cant tell me that there is no room for me.
Get off our backs already!!!
