Tucker on MSNBC--Possibly thousands dead in poorest Biloxi |
|
Tucker had a reporter on just now from Biloxi who says that the most impoverished part of Biloxi (Biloxi Point, est 4,000 people) was completely wiped out and there are at least hundreds, possibly thousands, dead. People who live in the area had no money and weren't expecting government checks to arrive until after the first of the month. Some people asked businesses to extend credit for gasoline and other supplies to leave the area and they declined. Now those people are probably dead.

who said people had asked him for $20 so they get out of there, so they could fill up their gas tanks to evacuate but he couldn't or didn't give it to them. He was very upset because he knows they are dead because they couldn't evacuate.
That is why (thankfully) MSNBC know this and is reporting it.
It was a day or two before their next check so they were broke. They lived paycheck to paycheck so they were screwed. Their apartment buildings were exactly where the eye wall hit the Mississippi coast.

4. Yeah, Barbour said FEMA gave him everything he asked for |
|
Evidently, Barbour didn't ask for help for the poor.

I'm going to say that when all the bodies are counted (from all affected states) the total is going to hit about 100,000.

I said that too yesterday. It's horrifying to even think about, but it's a real possibility.
