1. Craig's List
I did it. Just sign up for an account and post an ad that you're willing to sponsor a person or family and whatever stipulations you have.

My sister found a list for artists with pets to offer her spare room on.

3. Maybe try someone you already know.
Maybe someone in your community can tell you about someone that they know.

Or you can post an ad on craigslist.org

6. There is a thread around here hurricane something
that you can advertise on. I would contact Catholic Charities or Lutheran social services, they are involved with this disaster. And I know LSS and am pretty CC place families. And, at least LSS, they don't care what you believe, their primary job is the placing.

7. But do those groups have access to the people?

I know the groups above are approved and have access.

Edit for more info. I know this because during the Kosovo nightmare I was on the list to receive a family.

8. Best thing to do...
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 11:13 PM by Kristi1696
Is to contact community leaders in your community to see what their plans are to bring families into your area. Otherwise, unless you live near Texas and can drive to pick up a family in the Astrodome parking lot, the logistics would be a nightmare...

I see that you're in MD. Both Philly and DC are working on plans to relocate families to their cities.

I can give you the number to contact in Philly, it's (215)686-2181.

Good luck!!
