How are they going to handle that anniversary
when they obviously haven't learned a dam thing in the last 4 years!

Would they dare have parades while all of this is going on in NOLA?

I think it should be a national day of mourning. That was the first day we lost our country. Yes, you can say it was in Dec 2000 when the supreme court handed the presidency to the idiot. But honestly, in your wildest dreams, did you ever think it would be this bad? As mad as I was, I never, ever thought this country could sink this low.

I don't think I could handle them using 9/11 to their advantage one more time. Especially now. :grr:

1. They're going to hold their 'celebration' in DC, as planned
The reaction from the public will be the end of them, politically.

3. I was under the impression they were gonna PAR-TAY.
Celebrate 'Merka and the March of Democracy and our Victory in the War on Terra. Even before the hurricane it looked to be tacky beyond belief. But now, anything of a celebratory nature would be truly obscene. Which means, of course, that these soulless scumbuckets will do it.

13. What do you think should be investigated further?
Unfortunately I don't know what answers are left to find, or what new information could be uncovered through another commission. It is a trajedy that saddens me today as much as it did on the morning of 9/11. On many subjects I look to politicize. I look for the evil of the right wingers, the neo-cons, the bible belt zombies, red-state red necks, etc. When it comes to 9/11, though, the only people I blame are the 19 hijackers, the 1 that missed his flight, and all those that planned the attacks on the innocent. I have plenty of other things to blame on the shrub in the Oval Office.

5. I don't see how they can use 9/11 politcally again
after this. The raison d'etre for the whole 9/11-9/11-9/11 mantra coming from the Bush administration was essentially to say "Trust US to protect you. Don't trust THEM. Trust US. We'll protect you. We'll look after you. If you don't do what we say, BAD THINGS will happen."

After Katrina, I don't see how they can play that card again. The whole image of Bush as the capable "9/11 president" is just gone.

7. True, but do THEY know that? And will they acknowledge it by refraining?
Somehow I don't think this will stop them from playing that card yet again. We know that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. We've even had admissions from Junior that it didn't, yet he STILL uses it in his speeches about his war. He even refused to change the phrasing "War On Terror." He's shameless and manipulative. And he refuses to admit he's ever wrong.

8. Yeah - and what about that line the public was fed...
America won't be safe under a Kerry presidency!
And how the soccer mom's just ate it up.

10. Bingo.
The post-9/11 Era is over. Whenever the GOP tries that line of b.s, the Democrats will be able to point to the Katrina Aftermath as Exhibit A of the GOP's deadly incompetence.

The pendulum has stopped its movement to the right. Now comes the equal and opposite reaction.

12. EXACTLEY, it has been proven that we are not safe and they not trustworthy
I am hearing massive "omgodness" from repubs today. They are getting it. There is no way they will be able to use 9-11.
