I don't get to go, but I get to help
Earlier today I wrote up a list of things I thought my store should send to Louisiana and gave it to my manager.

When I came back, my manager told me I couldn't go to the disaster area. Instead, I am going to sit in Fayetteville and work on coordinating shipments to the disaster area. Each store in the Southeast is going to have one or two people doing this, and I'm the guy for here.

My first act as coordinator was to pull all the gray shingles and stick them behind the building. Y'all told me gray was a popular roof color in Louisiana, so there are going to be some gray roofs built.

Next, I suggested (it was approved) that we get 30 Iridium phones and issue one to each store in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. This way the stores aren't dependent on the landline system or cell phone towers.

And finally, I ransacked the Virginia Distribution Center and removed all the cleaning products from it. You folks down there better like Formula 409 and Fantastik, because I got you a shitload of it.

2. Your post made me smile!
Good job!

Hubby and I are waiting on the call to get a load to take it to the Gulf Coast. He volunteered his semi-truck and time to do a run or however many they need.

4. That sounds like they really trust you are going to help
even more by doing it right. Without supplies and coordination nothing would get done. Thanks for participation in this relief effort.
