We should give New Orleans to the Oil Companies .... |
|
1/2 of it, and make the other half a wildlife preserve. If the government pours a bunch of money into re-building it, the public could lose out if the same thing happens a year or five from now.
As to the oil - there's been oil struck everywhere along that coast. The Oil Industry hasn't drilled in New Orleans for decades. My guess is there's a lot of crude under the Big Easy. It needs to be drilled - might help offset gas shortages in the future.

We will give reconstruction to Haliburton and the rest of the crowd that has raped Iraq.
This disaster will make billions for many * cronies if the people sat back and let it happen.
The oil companies don't need to drill wells anymore. They can just sat back and double and triple the price at the pump. They will tell us there is a shortage and some simpletons will believe them. Why drill wells? Remember the shortages in California? That was a test run for the rest of the country.
