"Is Pete Fountain OK????"
My sister said that my grandmother asked this today---she isn't exactly senile but she is 98.

(Pete Fountain was one of those Dixieland band leaders with a straw hat and striped vest that tourists like gramma liked very much---not rough like that "jazz stuff")

we got our one minute laugh for the day.
But, if anyone does know if he was even alive last week and in NO, it will make a very old lady happy to know

1. Didn't he die a while back? Not a long while but...
...I'm pretty sure he's dead.

5. I can't find anything about him dying...
...he moved back to New Orleans, opened his own club, and has played there regularly up until retiring from the nightclub business in early 2003.

6. Pete
no longer lives in NOLA, he's had a house in Mississippi (not on coast) for many years, and moved to it permanently after retiring from his club at the Hilton Riverside a few years ago.

My brother spoke to his grandson a few days ago, and he (grandson) didn't mention anything negative.
