as a child (1958). Still live in central Mississippi. We had mild damage/70mph winds, but damage to the south and east of us was FAR more severe.

Born in Vicksburg, lived in Jackson and Southaven (a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee).
Spent lots of time in Gulfport, Biloxi and New Orleans though.

I went away to college at Tulane, went to grad school there, and began my career there. I am 33 and have never lived anywhere longer than the 11 years I lived in New Orleans. I know my best friends left and are fine, and I am confident all my acquiantances and colleagues are fine. My heart breaks for the city and the region, which I fear will never be the same.
