Norway offers help to hurricane victims (finally ;-)
"Disaster aid to USA
Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UD) said Friday that they have offered general aid to the USA in the wake of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

Nations around the globe have extended financial aid and health personnel to the USA and the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said that all offers would be accepted.

UD press spokeswoman Anne Lene Dale Sandsten said that the form of Norwegian aid was undetermined pending a formal response from the USA. Dale Sandsten said that financial aid to the USA had not yet been considered.

(snip)

A Reuters list on Friday afternoon of foreign aid offered to the USA on Friday in response to the Katrina disaster did not include Norway."

10. The situation in NO is very worrying to us as well
The Norwgeians has a lot of ties to the US, and also to New Orleans.
In Norway, New Orleans are known for their jazz, their fun people and their cooking!
The way Bush treats the city's inhabitants are discussed loudly over here.

Here's a headline:

Thunders against Bush

MUST GET HELP: Soldiers watching over desperate survivors fighting to get on the bus to Houston. They lack food, medicines and water. The criticizm towards Bush are hard.

12. I once had the pleasure of meeting King Olaf V and Prince Ivan in Minn.
May he rest in peace. He was a great man. He was in his 80's. He was as strong and determined as anyone could be. Olaf V embodied everything I had ever read about Vikings. He was Tall, Strong, hearty, and had a zest for life. To me he was undoubtedly the King of the Vikings. Meeting him was something I'll never forget.
