Day 6 And I Am Asking - Have They Decided To Let Everyone Die? Quarantine?

THIS IS GOING TO SOUND HORRIBLE AND MOST LIKELY UNBELIEVABLE BUT:

All reports I keep getting indicate that the people are being kept in the city against their will. I have seen many reports of volunteers being kept from entering the city to help. There is little or no food or water being air-dropped, even to the largest and well known groups. Days and days have past and with the exception of the time Bush was in the area yesterday, I have not seen anything in the way of assistance.

Why?

I can only find one explanation in my mind to explain these bizarre and perverse actions while we all watch thousands starving and dehydrating to death.

I NOW BELIEVE THAT THE CITY HAS BEEN QUIETLY QUARANTINED!

I believe that they fear airborne diseases have infected the remaining survivors and they do not want the infected to leave the city and possible spread the bug. I have concluded that they have made the decision to keep most there and let them die.

I really do not believe that this is the only explanation I can come up with! But, it is the only scenario that makes any sense to me given the situation and the complete lack of a response.

I think they are just going to let most die. That is why no food. That is why no water. Those things (IN SOME TWISTED FREAK POLITICOS'S MIND) would just prolong the suffering of those that they are killing off!

Am I crazy? Have I finally gone TOO paranoid? Or do you folks think that there may be something to this hypothesis?

Help me out. I am losing it here!

As far as I know no aid was distributed. I never saw a single person getting handed a bottle of water! Not one after they made that big show of rolling in with hundreds possibly thousads of troops!

How can that be if they are actually distributing the stuff.

My understanding was that people that got on busses were getting MRE's and water. I have yet to see a single person who is still on the ground get a single bottle of water.

I have a friend who is holed up on Convention Center Blvd. He has received rations, water, and vodka (for a wound in his leg...he is diabetic).

but I'm thinking a quarantine may be a possibility as to why these people haven't been allowed to leave.

There's a thread somewhere here that discusses a possible medical research laboratory in NO dealing with highly infectious diseases.

If this were destroyed or the microbes were to have been released we could be in even deeper shit. Is the government no covering up a possibility of an outbreak? I suppose the only way to find out is if there are accounts of people showing symptoms. Of course, they may just end up starving to death first.

Help is coming to Mississippi and Alabama has gotten plenty of help, but the people of New Orleans are suffering beyond anything I ever thought possible in this country. You have to wonder if this government has any intention of helping these poor people. The general on the ground yesterday replied to Martin Savidge that it was "hard to get in here." That was his reply when asked what has taken so long. The general then said, "It takes a long time to get in here, how long did it take you?" To which Savidge replied, "I have been here." They are saying that they couldn't get rescue workers into the convention center because it wasn't safe, yet Brian Williams rode up in an SUV - just him and his camera guy, and no one attacked him. Heard a story yesterday that they are tagging people in the hospitals for which ones will be allowed to get food and water when and if it comes. This is UNBELIEVABLE and UNACCEPTABLE! I have never in my life been as angry as I am now. I am in charge of the relief effort at work, but have to wonder what guarantee is there that any of the money we have raised will help the people who need it most?
