Miles O'Brien just asked Breaux about Dems "making political hay"... |
|
out of the disaster. Said there are starting to be such allegations on the web. This was after both he and former Senator Breaux had discussed the shortcomings of the response. Miles said that would be "reprehensible," and Breaux agreed.

3. "Political hay???" This must be prosecuted, not just "politicized." |
|
Crimes against humanity, genocide, the whole nine yards. There is no way these men can be let room free or given command over so much as a toilet flush handle.

But it's statements like this that continue to keep the Dems covering in fear because they continue to believe that attitude reflects the feelings of the voters.

9. Right. Imagine this were Britain. That's what the opposition... |
|
in a free country does. If a government fails, it is up to the opposition (and the free press) to hold that government accountable.

Democrats have been almost completely silent, except for the CBC, and they're accused of making 'political hay'?
Gee, imagine if the Democrats had a real response to this mess, or raised a fuss on Wednesday, when it was clear there was NO help on the way.

What's reprehensible about pointing out the most recent example of Bush's incompetence? It's political by its very nature.
These idiots are trying to pull a "Support the Troops" (ie don't criticize Busholini) facaded with "Don't make it political" (ie don't criticize Busholini).
The Democrats should have been ready for this tactic, but as usual, they are in a hidey hole somewhere afraid to make noise.

That way nothing serious sticks to the Repugs, even though they are in total charge of the government.

|
That is fucking bullshit, and when he said that I wanted to slap him in the face.
WHY aren't we entitled to actual leadership?
I guess we're supposed to wait until the next time. But then it won't be the "right time" either.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE?

I know his wife and have for 20 + years. He's tired. He's disgusted and he's reporting from a devastated area. I saw him go after the governor of LA the other night and I didn't agree with his tactics, I also saw him get just as "in your face" with those of the Republican persuasion......I can assure you he's no Freeper.

I have seen from him on CNN for years. It's to the point I can no longer stand to see his face. The next time you see him and his wife, ask him what he thinks about bushco. Have you ever? Until you do, pipe down.
And for someone who supposedly isn't a freeper, he sure does keep up with the wingnuts talking points. If he's not a freeper, per se, he gets his "news" sources from Matt Drudge like his pal Wolfie who once admitted it.

|
Last time I checked you were not the boss of DU. Do not presume to tell me or anyone else here who has a different opinion than you or in this case knows differently to be silent. If you want to censor what people's opinions are head over to Freeperland.
You think that because you have seen him on TV and feel you're an expert on him that you know all about him? Get real.:eyes:

we all know that the best way to judge their performance is by friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend testimonials.

He lives in the most Liberal areas of metro Atlanta as do I. I know he and his wife's politcal leanings from first hand discussions. If I had to describe them I would say centralist Democrats. I love how many here sit in judgement of anyone not to the far left (and btw I am far left) and call them a Freeper.
