1. The tax cuts will have to be repealed.
I'm 100%, absolutely in favor of that. Forgo my whopping $300 bucks a year to rebulid New Orleans....a national treasure? Hell, yes!

Of course this has the proverbial snow balls chance in hell of happening, so I guess we'll slide further into red ink.

2. A Big Tax Cut for the Rich is definitely in order
it's the only way to solve this problem.

7. They had to do it in the UK, after WWII,
because they were the only ones with any money. The top rate of tax was equivalent to 95 cents in the dollar. And rest assured, the payers of that so-called "super tax" did not have to sell any of their homes, ocean-going yachts, cars, wine stocks, jewelry ... anything. And what's more the country began to thrive as never before.

3. The $300BB spent on the "War on Terror" has really paid big
dividends to this country. Bush's elective war in Iraq has shorted our domestic infrastructure....the people of New Orleans are reaping the results of this folly.

5. The Walton Family could handle the bill single-handedly.
That's the size of their wealth.

Not that I'm at all advocating confiscation or demonizing those who've benefited from an inequitable economic system merely because they benefited, but the very same people who are in distress are the people to whom the Walton Family owes their economic success.

Instead, of course, they support and fund those who blame the victims. :puke:

6. $100 Billion = One half Iraq war costs TO GOVERNMENT to date.
Since the hurricane disaster figure includes all losses to property, losses in wages, losses in business income,

And the Iraq war "cost" is merely government outlay and nothing about the loss of wages of NG as they drop their jobs and families and go overseas for a year,

you get an idea of the relative size of the disasters.

8. Yup. I started a thread about this earlier.
Washington Journal guy read an article that estimated 100 BILLION cost to rebuild NOLA. 1/4 of that to be covered by insurance companies and the rest will come from PRIVATE DONATIONS and CHARITIES! We have spent how much of our tax dollars to rebuild Iraq???????? $200-300 BILLION???
