MSNBC: Frist says dying people a "distribution problem..."
"At Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, thousands of people remained in a triage center, many of them dying for lack of medical care.

“The hallways are filled, the floors are filled. There are thousands of people there,” said Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., who was at the airport. “A lot more than eight to 10 people are dying a day. It’s a distribution problem..."

how did frist get there? why cant he take people out in HIS plane?

HOW many refugees would fit in AIR FORCE ONE? especially if the usual passengers were denied access?

2. I think you got it wrong.

Sounds to me like he's saying people are dying BECAUSE of a distribution problem, not that they ARE one.

18. Okay, more precisely, I think you've *interpreted* it wrong.
Is seems more sensible to me that the "it" in "it's a distribution problem" refers to why people are dying.

If he meant the dead people were causing problems, you'd think he'd have said "*they're* a distribution problem."

I just don't see any reason to conclude that he meant what you suggested.

17. Here's the entire quote...
At Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, thousands of people remained in a triage center, many of them dying for lack of medical care.

“The hallways are filled, the floors are filled. There are thousands of people there,” said Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., who was at the airport. “A lot more than eight to 10 people are dying a day. It’s a distribution problem. The doctors are doing a great job, the nurses are doing a great job.”

Let's see...you say you read it as (shit, i can't go 'back' to read it) saying: there is a distribution problem as in these people need to be gotten out to hospital, distributed in other words to places that can take them.

You know, he's a medical professional - goddamnit, talk like one! A distribution problem?! I'm a medical professional; THAT is not the phraseology I would use.

I don't like him. In fact, I dislike him. Any physician who wants to use video to diagnose ........ infuriating!

And those medical personnel did AN ABSOLUTELY HERIOC & FANTASTIC JOB. Have you ever physically bagged someone? You know for a bit it's OK, but to constant bag someone who needs artifical ventialation is not easy to maintain. I'm babbling.....on a rant!

I read it to mean that there is a distribution problem as in distribution of life's necessities.

20. I don't see it that way
I read it to mean that there is a distribution problem as in distribution of life's necessities.

- Rearranged to put quote alone -
(said Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., who was at the airport.)

“The hallways are filled, the floors are filled. There are thousands of people there,” “A lot more than eight to 10 people are dying a day. It’s a distribution problem. The doctors are doing a great job, the nurses are doing a great job.”

No, I don't see it to mean "life's necessities" at all.

Perhaps, the 'it' refers to the numbers medical personnel and the lack thereof.

6. A distribution problem?!
Did he just want the dead 'evenly distributed' and not concentrated.

Correct! How DID Frist get there? Trent Lott flew in on a military chopper to survey the damage to his property in Louisiana. Who could he have taken out with him?

12. what!
A distribution problem.. like cargo? Is he talking like a plantation master or what?

These are people.. human beings.. just like you and me Mr. Frist.

The problem is people like you and Mr. Bush and the DHS who have turned people away from helping so that the military could take over with Bush in the foreground hugging Black women.. while many thousands were needlessly suffering in large, unliveable edifices in a destroyed city.

23. I see he got the talking points. Hannity used the exact same phrase.
"Distribution problem". I believe Hannity embellished it a little and called it a "slight distribution problem".
