LA Gov should have asked for help 2 days prior to natural disaster
Did anyone see the dick head on o'lielly last night saying you have to ask for guard assistance 2 days in advance of a storm?

Man this is fucking pissing me off. First off, we have tornado's every year. Our state never calls 2 days in advance of them how the fuck could they? In fact no one calls our guard, not our Governor, nobody!
The guard always shows up within a couple of hours after these tornadoes hit...every year for years. The simple fact is this spin is out of control. I am hearing everybody blaming the governor because she didn't call in time. It's driving me nuts.

Please DU members. Someone post the facts and keep the facts coming and put them on the front page and email it to the media. This is outrageous.

2. She did ask for federal assistance in funding evacuation flights before.
And it was refused.

3. Tell O'Really that Gov asked for assistance day before Katrina.
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 12:35 PM by longship
The official signed request to Bush and FEMA is on the Web and has been referenced on DU plenty of times in the past couple of days. So, O'Really is lying as usual.

The request is dated Sunday, the day before the storm hit.

Tell O'Really to go fuck himself.

4. O'Reilly KNOWS it a lie, he doesn't care
The talking point HAS to be that it was the Governor's fault and he will hammer that regardless of what proof is provided that he is talking out of his ass as usual. His role is not to be a fact provider, it is to be a propaganda provider.

8. I think this will be one of many documents
that will serve as nails in their coffins. I believe there's going to be lots of paper trail, and lots of "media trail".

It's going to get ugly, and we're going to hear the rabid gnashing of teeth, but I'm going to have a grim sense of satisfaction. This country, this world has been needing to vomit up this bunch of lowlifes for a long time now.

6. that is all bullshit from the Rove spin machine

Look. The Federal government has a ton of studies that tell them exactly what to expect in a disaster like this. The whole damn government KNEW this was going to hit on Saturday. Instead of sitting on his ass in Crawford the Impostor should have been on the phone on Saturday REASSURING the governors of all the gulf states that he was immediately ordering all possible military response in advance to be ready to move in as soon as the winds subsided and damage assessed (which, given our billions of dollars worth of satellites should have taken 10 minutes).

No excuse for this. NONE!

7.  ALL OF DU HEAR ME AGAIN>>>fuck o'lielly we all know he's lying
The point I am making is this...we have to get this spin under control. This needs to be on the front page of DU, every where you look this should be available. We have to start right now in making sure that people out there in Faux Land and MSM land know that this is a lie.

O'lielly sure as hell doesn't want anyone to know this...he has taking his talking points straight from rove's playbook.

9. Kos reports her 8/28 letter was her SECOND letter asking for help.
FEMA apparently mentioned her first on 8/27.

10. Republican Governors in Miss. and Alabama didn't get much help either.
Did they forget to submit the proper form either?

Blanco asked for aid. The Federal government sat on its ass and let the situation worsen.

Conspiracy, racism, incompetence? You take your pick. Personally I'm going with incompetence.
