So.....what city is going to be next? |
|
What has happened in New Orleans this weekend just showed us how cold and evil the Bushites truly are. I can only wonder what city is going to be the next victim. Not just of the disaster, natural or manmade, that would disrupt that city in particular, but the deadly neglect that the Bushites would cause. You have already seen the carnage of New Orleans, a major American city. So who is going to be next? The inactions of the Bushites has got to be solid proof that they simply don't give a damn!

Or New York, Boston? Any one of our cities could be next.

2. SF is among the most statistically likely.... |
|
It's simply a matter of time. Then there's Rainier over Seattle, although there's no indication of any increased activity. Still, it will happen sooner or later. And many coastal cities are likely at risk from rising sea levels as global warming progresses. That would have eventually gotten NO if Katrina or another big storm hadn't.

6. I'm a SF quake researcher |
|
I've been spending quite a bit of time in recent years trying to find documentation about the history of earthquakes in San Francisco.
From my findings, 1906 was a whine; 1989 Loma Prieta a whimper.
In the mid 1860s ---> earthquakes occurred twice monthly and there said to be HUGE. Like probably 9.0's or more. They did not have such a thing as a "richter" scale during these times, but the records I have located tell of mass devastation and horrific death.
Too bad the greedy bastard real estate agents in the Bay Area won't face these documented facts. Biggest fault waiting to blow is the Hayward fault. It is anticipated that if this mama blows, it will basically dump the whole bay area into the sea.
Scary yes. Will people pack up and leave? Not until it happens. In the meantime there they all live in their $1,000,000 McMansions in the sky ... that will indeed fall once again.
'tis the history of San Francisco; Mark Twain did the job of documenting much of this while working for the San Francisco Call in the 1860s.

11. Since the Cascade range is populated with many volcanos, |
|
some of them near large population centers, any one of them could decide to go off. Since there is time to evacuate usually, I hope each state has an evacuation plan in place since we can't rely on the federal government these days.

I was listening to a late night talk radio....can't remember who. Anyhow he had a weather analyst on prediciting a major earth quake in CA. within the next 5 weeks. This was a week or so ago that I heard this. The "expert" claims that the weather patterns shown with their technology suggests a far worse earthquake than what caused the tsunami in Dec. He said that it will be unlike any other natural catastrophe in history. Ok, so I don't know if this is true, and I'm not trying to spread rumor, but I did hear this guy and this is what he is predicitng. He also said that he saw the same weather changes two weeks before the tsunami and tried to allert athorities....was not given attention. I will search around a bit for more info about this "expert" and post a link if I can find it.

7. Bernie Ward was talking about it night before last |

He had grave concerns about SF being there are the two bridges. If they go, the entire population of SF would indeed be "trapped".

Yes that triple plate is a HUGE worry. The San Andreas fault is another HUGE worry. The whole thing has caused a tsunami in the past as the archeology of this region supports this theory. The evidence is this: There is no evidence - only "items" found buried and embedded into the shoreline. So, it has happened before. When exactly will it happen again? We do not know as earthquakes are unpredictable.
I personally have 20 cases of water in my garage ... just in case.

I would say San Fran would be a disaster in the making. I think reaction would be slow. The bigger problem might be LA (the city), though. Major earthquakes in either of those two cities would be devestating.

Either hurricane, blizzard/massive snowstorm, or just vast loss of life from no heat.
And why? "They's mostly lieburals...not voting for us, so who gives a shit about them"

16. Do not underestimate the New Madrid Fault, underneath |
|
the Mississippi River where Mo, Tn, Ark and KY all come together.
Last time that thing blew(1814), the river ran backwards and Reelfoot Lake was created; it rang churchbells in New York and Boston.
If that sucker shifted at that magnitude today, Memphis, Vicksburg, Natchez, St Louis, and everything in between would be a disaster area.

Striking either the coast or in the gulf again. We're just heading to the peak of hurricane season now.
