SHOCKING piece on CNN - bastards!
CNN just ran a piece showing photos of African-Americans in New Orleans, asking if race and class were factors in the botched relief efforts.

What was shocking is that the voice-over from the reporter in NY said the following...

..."If they had voted...or voted differently, for stronger leaders..."

What the fuck? If they had voted Republican, they would have been rescued faster? Hell yeah, like the Republican government gave a damn!

1. Uhh...they did vote for stronger leaders.

Fucking idiots. So much for the liberal media.

This is exactly the problem with the Republican Party. Bush is refusing to help Louisiana promptly because it has Democratic officials.

The message is: If you don't vote for me, don't expect my help.

Only when all have accepted the Republican leadership of America as a one-party state, will the Republican party treat all voters equally.

It is fucking criminal.

2. criminal indeed
And the inference from that piece is that Democrats aren't "strong leaders". Pure propaganda.

6. Leadership
requires taking responsibility. When W** said, "The response was unacceptable" he was saying in effect,"my response was unacceptable".

16. Yes it was also simply criminal. However the reporter isn't talking.....
About the federal government, he means the local government. And I actually agree with him that they could have elected better represenatives. When I look at it all, they needed leaders who were not like Mayor Nagin but more like Governor Howard Dean.

They needed to elect stronger democrats IMO, the type that take no bullshit from republicans or others. However none of it exscuses the indifference and tragedy that has happened I just thought of it.

Criminal is the only word for it.

3. BRAD BLOG - Lou Dobbs: Why Aren't More Black Leaders Blamed for Crisis?
Is Lou Dobbs a racist too?

From BRAD BLOG:
Lou Dobbs: Why Aren't More Black Leaders Blamed for Crisis?

LOU DOBBS: ...There is in this charge from particularly Reverend Jesse Jackson, from the NAACP, the Congressional Black Caucus among others, there has been no mention of Mayor Ray Nagin, who is black, a predominantly black power structure in the City of New Orleans. Why is that?

LISA SYLVESTER: We heard from Ray Nagin earlier today and he is somewhat irate. The sense is that the Federal Government has somehow dropped the ball. These politicians...

LOU DOBBS: I don't think that anybody would argue with that, Lisa, but why would not black leaders concerned about black poor people in this case, who are the predominant victims here who remain in their city stranded, why would they not also focus on a black mayor of that city and it's black power structure?

4. Yes Lou Dobbs is a racist. His advocacy of the Minutemen was
one more bit of proof in addition.

19. Yes, Lou Dobbs hates
Hispanics, Blacks, and Arabs. His interview with a representative of the Palestinians was disgraceful. He showed him no resperct. It was embarrassing to watch. Dobbs is not concerned with the immigrants coming over the Canadian border(mostly white) but outraged at the brown people entering illegally.

5. Are you sure that is what the voice over meant? Could be that
"stronger leaders" implies Kerry. Could be that the voting record of the poor in some districts is still very low.

I don't quite get what is so off about that statement.

Your turnout for elections & voting is something ridiculous like 65%. Somebody is not voting and apathetic.

7. no
I viewed the "voted differently, for stronger leaders" phrase to be a plug for voting for Republican governors and/or mayors. You know, 'strong leaders' like Barbour.

12. I didn't see it live. And I think they have let Dobbs loose taking the
Repuke side..so they can claim that not every single one of their reporters or anchors are anti-Bush.

Sometimes CNN is understated.

14. The RW and GOP are in damage control over-drive
right now. Their goal is to convince people that what we saw this week was not what we saw. That what we heard was not what we heard. Typical "who you gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes?"

15. The insidious Spin Begins
Already we are hearing Republicans comment about Louisiana's governor (Dem) and New Orleans mayor(Dem) acting "too slowly". Republicans will try this spin in small doses right now to see if it takes. (They have implied, in Mississippi, the Republican governor, is "doing much better".) If there are not too many objections to this spin....or no one calls them on it...they will change focus from Bush's accountability... to the Louisiana's governor's and the New Orleans mayor's accountability.

They will do ANYTHING to get the focus off of Bush.

21. Guys--we are going to have to starve the media--
Just like we did with Sinclair, demanding fair reporting--reporting without bias. Without them filling in and compensating for what they edit out.

This is absolutely criminal.

If your doctor, or lawyer or plumber or whoever behaved in an unacceptable manner--you'd fire them. Let's fire these bastards!

22. I guess the victims of Miss, LA and Al didn't vote for a strong leader?
poor white people of Miss, LA and Al voted for what they thought was a strong leader. Fat lot of good that did them. They aren't seeing disaster relief any faster if at all. Some people open their ignorant mouths without thinking first! Pinhead** is a prime example!
