Out of the Mouth of George W....
You never know what's gonna happen when Georgie Porgie opens his mouth!

I left a blog entry over at The Talking Points Memo Cafe regarding George Bush's comments on Trent Lott's house.

Someone responded to that, and they were telling me about something even more hideous.

They said that on September 10, 2002 he met a 9/11 widow. And the widow told him that 9/11 was also she and her husband's anniversary. George's response? "Wow! You got a double whammy!"

1. He just keeps piling up the callous remarks doesn't he?

And he thinks nothing of it. :banghead: This guy hates everyone, himself being #1. I really think deep down inside he doesn't like himself very much. Either that or he is the biggest asshole on the face of the Earth.

2. He's a sociopath, incapable of empathy, so he doesn't realize the effect
of his words and actions on other people. He doesn't care because he never learned how to care. That's why when politicians start talking family values, I shudder to think of the poor kids in their own families. They're likely emotional cripples in the making, a tragedy for them that becomes a national tragedy if they rise to any elective office.

8. It does make you wonder, doesn't it?
All of the money, connections, prep schools, Ivy League colleges . . . and the guy can't deal with people in a kind, real, responsible, well-mannered way? Or, an even more frightening thought: this is the best he can do AFTER learning something from all of his advantages. The guy's not even human.

10. I give up trying to understand what makes this monster tick.
It just doesn't compute, can't wrap my mind around it.

5. Remember the T-shirt for little kids some time back,
"God Doesn't Make Mistakes."

If God exists, he made a DOOZY with Chimpy.

6. This is a little off topic
but does anyone remember the campaign for american children to send $1 to the white house? I can't remember what disaster this was suppose to help with.
I also don't remember hearing anything else about it.

9. Wasn't that for kids in
Afghanistan?

Probably ended up being poker money for Cheney.

11. He asked children to send $1 to WH to help Afghan children
This was one of his more brilliant ideas- it resulted in 350,000 envelopes arriving at the WH during the anthrax-in-envelopes scare. To make it even better, some WH aides were caught stealing some of the cash the children sent.

7. "All in all....."
''But all in all, it's been a fabulous year for Laura and me. We're so grateful to be living in this compound and I'm grateful to be working in this office. It's a joy to walk in here every morning, realizing that I'm the President of the greatest country on the face of the Earth. ''

the amazing thing about the above is that it's on their own website, BRAGGING about his first year "accomplishments!"

15. This is what you get
when you mix sociopathy, limited intelligence and extreme wealth.

When you consider that that this THING has been placed in power over this country and to some extent, the world, well, the mind just boggles.

17. Bush joking at airport Fri
I saw in a couple of places (M. Dowd in NY Times today, for example) that Bush was joking around at the NO airport yesterday about his younger and wilder days spent in the Crescent City. Anybody seen any direct quotes or any other story about this?
