We should contact ALL mainstream media outlets and ask them to ask politly where the bodies are.

1. Their comment on the subject is: "We are dealing with the living"... |
|
They don't have the resources to deal with the bodies.

9. I don't believe anything they say!... |

I never have and I never will.
They can all go straight to hell, as far as I'm concerned!

13. I saw on another thread somewhere they're waiting for disease. |
|
Then they can quarantine the area.

3. There are supposed to be vast numbers of them... |
|
I wonder where they went. Maybe things were happening during those days when aid was blocked...

6. How can they recover the bodies in town before the city is drained? |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 03:45 PM by rocknation
Between being underwater for at least three months and any carnivorous marine life that has gotten in, an accurate body count may be impossible.

10. i'm thinking...many bodies will remain unidentified...because |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 03:57 PM by gp
there's no one to identify them (no family, disabled, elderly, poor)...will they still be counted? Will they receive the proper respect and burial they deserve?
I'm sure FEMA will do everything to 'minimize' the body count as to keep the raw numbers from emphasizing their unforgivable failures.
edit: also they will try to generalize the death toll in terms of who died as a result from Katrina and who died because FEMA fucked up (dehydration, famine, lack of medication and proper care, ...).
WE CANNOT LET THAT HAPPEN!!! YOU KNOW IT WILL HAPPEN IF NOBODY WILL STEP UP, THE MSM WILL BUY IT HOOK, LINE & SINKER AND 'MOVE ON'...

11. in the attics, no doubt . . . |
|
since there was no power, most residents had no idea that the levee had failed . . . they found out when their first floors started to flood . . .
the water kept rising, chasing them higher and higher into their homes, until many found themselves trapped in their attics . . . some were able to chop or cut their way out; most were not . . .
some drowned when the water eventually engulfed their houses . . . other suffocated due to lack of water and ventilation . . .
they'll be finding bodies in attics for weeks, if not months . . .

12. Bodies in water will sink, then rise after 2-3 days |
|
because of decomposition gases, then sink again. People have been dying for five days now, so I'm sure there are going to be a lot that show up in unexpected places.
