He's head and shoulders over any of the canidates, except maybe Wes Clark, that may be running for president.

20. Dean is excellent unless pressed, then he becomes a little unsure of
his gut instinct, which is Great. Truman dropped the bomb. I cannot get passed that.

3. At least he has the guts to buck Bush and take matters into his
own hands for the good of the people. If Al Gore can get a plane and fly down and pick up sick people, why the Hell can't Bush? We wouldn't be in this trouble today if the election hadn't been stolen from Gore. He's got more integrity in his little finger than Bush has in his entire body.

5. I pray that you are correct.
We need him now, more than ever. Even if he just keeps speaking truth to power with or without running for office.

Gores speaking from the heart is just the tonic this nation needs.

6. I LOVE Al Gore and lamented during the last Pres race that he didn't
run again. He just swept me off of my feet with his series of Moveon speeches. He had the guts that Kerry never showed.

Al is still My President!

General Wesley Clark, Former NATO Commander of U.S. Allied Forces, Discusses Emergency Preparedness Communication
Tuesday June 14, 9:12 am ET

Critical Texas Homeland Security Communications Needs Addressed by National, State and Local Public Safety Officials

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2005--Nextel Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTL - News) today hosted a conference in Houston devoted to improving interoperable communications and emergency preparedness. The conference highlighted the vital role of communication in overall public safety and homeland security in Texas and focused on the day-to-day and emergency communications needs facing police, fire, emergency management and other public safety and health officials. More than 200 Texas homeland security, public safety, education and public health officials attended.

The conference addressed interoperability - the idea that public safety officials must have the ability to easily manage and directly connect with one another through reliable and secure communications regardless of agency, jurisdiction or department. Speakers included General Wesley Clark, Partner, James Lee Witt Associates and Former NATO Commander of U.S. Allied Forces; Bill Pessemier, executive communications systems advisor, International Association of Fire Chiefs and former incident commander, Columbine, Colo., Fire Department.

Today, General Wesley Clark underscored the immediate need to address these issues, "It's imperative to expand the dialogue about interoperable communications among public safety officials. It's at the very core of emergency preparedness."

Local participants included: John Melcher, executive director, Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network; Matt Dick, director, Emergency Management Seton Healthcare Network; and Bill Jackson, executive director, Harris County E-Business. Each contributed first-hand examples about public safety concerns and issues.

Nextel is hosting a series of emergency preparedness communications conferences around the country designed to educate government, public safety and education officials.

19. I hope it is over.
I don't understand the desire of people on DU to run candidates who have proved not to be up to the task. Gore is a great man and a lousy candidate. Not as bad Clark but close.

24. C'mon Trumad, starting out 20 points behind Smirk & then winning
Is the definition of "lousy candidate".

If you throw in the fact that Gore was outspent 2 to 1, because he accepted campaign spending limits as a matter of prinicple, then Gore's win proves he's a "miserable candidate".

If you then add to that the fact that Gore had the worst, most hostile press coverage of any candidate in history, and still made up a 20 point deficit to win, that's the definition of "the worst cadidate we could run".

Get with the program, Trumad! ;)
