hurricane to go to the convention center? if so when did they begin to be told to congregate at the convention center? was it after the levee broke or before? is the government suggesting they convened at the convention center on their own? why was no one sent to aid in the evacuation, meaning, is that not part of the local/state/federal governments responsibilities?

Please help me with these points.

1. As I recall..
.. they were told to go to the Superdome before the storm hit. I saw lines for hours before the storm.

4. And they frisked everyone...
Didn't want any weapons being brought in. It makes sense of course that you wouldn't want any gun battles erupting, but it also ensured that the people would be unable to shoot back...

2. Before the Hurricane.
The Superdome was one of several shelters designated in advance.

5. Didn't the CG helicopters bring many they rescued to the Convention center
And if they could safely set victims, some old & frail, some very small clinging to mothers, down there, WHY couldn't other helicopters set pallets for water & food? If the Coast Guard could set people down, other pilots could have set supplies for them.
