Expect: Katriana changed everything -- tax rises coming -- watch.
Bush has backed America into a very shitty economic position.

Our debt is off the charts... our trade deficit is toast and the

dollar is next. Maybe they will try a "national sale s tax"..who knows.

He's on his waay out (unless he creats martial law) and the country

is in shitty shape financially. Tax revenues will collapse with

the rise in energy costs and less spending becuase of a slow economy.

Remember Reagan in his second term -- raised taxes.

16. The economy has been tankin' for awhile now... this is another torpedo.
My question is why you even contemplate a progressive taxation result from these people....

As I said.... I want some of what you're smokin'.:smoke:

4. Agreed. This is now the turning point
The era of dissing any type of government program will end. People will have to understand that we will all have to pay our fair share. The era of Reagan (1980-2005) is coming to an end. Thank God!

8. well it's about goddamned time...
i don't have problem with presidents raising taxes. i'm not a shortsighted, thicknecked buffoon with a below average IQ who thinks that all tax increases are bad.

"taxes are what we pay for a civilized society"... that's what it says on the IRS building. unfortunately, the chimp slashed taxes and look what we got... mayhem, and racists like bush and his bitch condoleeza (yes, she's a racist whore too though she's the first black woman i've ever seen to hate blacks so much) assisting in the mass holocaust in new orleans.

raise fucking taxes. i'm fine with it. just give us a fucking civilized society. bush hasn't given us a civilized society, but if he had his way he'd own slaves and give him to his daughters (who aren't as worthwhile as 'men' but still, these second class "wimmenfolk" are all his second class wife gave him so he's got to make do), so i'd be surprised if he does anyting to actually help "civilize' our society.

9. The Senate is gearing up to push to eliminate the "death tax"
next week. I got a letter from Santorum on Wednesday pushing their agenda to further enrich the richest. We'll see if they go forward on this now.

12. When the dems get back in power and are forced to fix the mess * and
his buddies leave, taxes will probably have to go up to pay for it, and the repukes will holler and squeal about how the dems always raise their taxes. Just wait.

13. rep/dems same difference -- the govt will need more $$$
repugs will position themselves as 'fiscal stewards' to "save"

the various plans like soc sec, medicare grandstanding.

they will say "fine...then everyone pays"

Perosnally I think there is going to be more trauma of the natural order.

"IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU"

(of course when you die, they'll then use eminent domain to "find" your property)

15. Speaking of taxes...
I pay taxes. I have no money left paycheck to paycheck to pay anything beyond my budget. I am embarrassed I cannot give more to my citizens in New Orleans and all the battered southern states right now. But I pay taxes. That's something isn't it? But they use my tax money to kill people far away with whom I have no argument. They use the dollars I could use buying more basics for my family to put my countrymen and women in harms way, in coffins, in permanent states of disability and I have no idea why and no say in it.

Now, now when my very own countrymen and women and children and babies are in terrible need they can't seem to get it together.

Is my country a tax sucking killing machine that becomes confused and inept when faced with the challenge of responding with empathy, kindness and all of its plenty?
