FEMA Sent Chemical Attack Supplies First to Field Hospital!
http://www.mg.co.za/articlepage.aspx?area=/breaking_news/breaking_news__international_news/&articleid=249911

<snip>

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) has been accused of being so concerned about the possibility of a terrorist attack that it failed to prepare properly for a much more inevitable natural disaster.

After the authorities in Baton Rouge had prepared a field hospital for victims of the storm, Fema sent its first batch of supplies, all of which were designed for use against chemical attack -- including drugs such as Cipro, which is designed for use against anthrax.

"We called them up and asked them, 'Why did you send that?', and they said that's what it says in the book," said a Baton Rouge official.

1. Cipro is a strong antibiotic
I don't know what the other items are, but Cipro will be needed. There are going to be mega illnesses that'll be hard to combat.

Check it out:

Bacterial infections have become a concern for both physicians and patients, especially infections caused by certain difficult-to-treat bacteria. Take aim at these pathogens with Cipro, a prescription antibiotic effective against a broad range of bacteria. In addition to learning more about Cipro, this site provides information on urinary tract infections, chronic bacterial prostatitis, and other infections.

4. Given The Circumstances, Ma'am
That is probably a fortunate error that compound was included. But it is just one more indication of the ludicrous level of snafu inflicted on our citizens by an incompetent and uncaring regime....

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

were designed for chemical attacks just cause it was in the book! More proof Bush's FEMA is a bunch of imcompetents! Your quick defense that Cipro could prove valuable makes you sound like the * apologists - gee he accidentally got something right.

8. I call them as I see them
I know no DU'er with over a 1000 posts is a * apologist. But when you respond defending that Cipro will be useful but did not reply as to the general Fuckup by FEMA by sending Chemical Attack Gear first when medical supplies for emergencies was desparately needed then yes, it does sound like those who serve as apologists.

If you personally took offense, I'm sorry.

I was not making a personal attack, just a comment on your post.

9. I get tired of it...that's why I got pissed
It's happened a few times in the past when I didn't go into complete detail like some people think I should.

Cipro will be useful and yeah, it's one of the rare moments when a fuckup of theirs didn't cost lives.

Thanks for the apology and I apologize for going off on you.

3. Seems like they don't just pedal FEAR - even worse, they
are AFRAID themselves....not sure if this makes it worse for those of us who are NOT shaking in our boots 24 hours a day (read: most of the right wing, all Fundies)....

Key question - why are these people so afraid, particulary if they are so convinced that they will be SAVED??

Mass insanity on the right...and insanity rhymes with Hannity!

7. Antibiotics is the treatment for typhoid
Cipro is a strong antibiotic. It might just help. Of course penecillin would help just as well and it would be 100 times cheaper, but then that wouldn't fatten the wallet of the pharm giants, would it?
