Bush is going to take as long as possible to clean up NO
This is how he responded to the first phase of the disaster. He ignored it and ate cake and played guitar. He took as much time as possible before launching an adequate response, knowing that every minute he waited another person would die.

Now he's planning to do the same thing with the clean up and rebuilding of NO. Hey, I know this is a big job and will take a far bit of time, heck we still have people living under blue tarps in FL since last year, but you can bet that Bush is going to drag this out as long as possible. Eventually the poor people who used to live there won't be able to come back and Bush will take their land and their neighborhoods and fix them up with fancy houses for all his friends. Then you'll be amazed at how fast they can do things.

2. It's The Corporatist Disney Solution
They did it to us here with Times Square.

Sorry if you're so dorked out you don't understand that Times Square used to be a cool place.

3. They did the same thing to Coconut Grove
I can't bare to go near the place anymore, especially since I hear they tore down the Taurus.

4. Hell yes it will take as long as possible.

As long as Haliburton is on the job.

They will drag their heels and squeeze every dime possible out of the American taxpayer.

I don't want to say what I want to happen to Bush and Cheney because I don't want any black helicopters flying over my house but you get the idea.

5. I keep hearing this mansions for the rich stuff. There is nothing
inherently attractive about New Orleans. It has a strategic location essential to the economy, but as a place to live or visit, the attractions were the culture, history and food, not the location. It is hot, damp, low-lying and has no beaches, ski hills or other physical attractions. With the city gone, there is no reason for a rich person to want to live there, they'd be happier in the same house in dozens of other places.
