Finally out of Thunderdome
My alter-ego, Tina Turner, keeps singing a song in my head. Maybe if I post it ... Food for thought anyway:

We Don't Need Another Hero (thunderdome)

Out of the ruins
out from the wreckage

Can't make the same mistakes this time.
We are the children
the last generation

We are the ones they left behind.
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it

Living under the fear till nothing else remains.

We don't need another hero

We don’t need to know the way home

All we want is life beyond the thunderdome.

Looking for something we can rely on

There's got to be something better out there.
Love and compassion
their day is coming

All else are castles built in the air
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it

Living under the fear till nothing else remains.
All the children say:
We don't need another hero
. . .

So what do we do with our lives? We leave only a mark.
Will our story shine like a light or end in the dark?
Is it all or nothing?

We don't need another hero
. . .
All the children say:
We don't need another hero - we don't need another hero

3. Sort Of Profound -- But I Think We DO Need Another Hero
Honestly. We need a leader. We need a hero. We need heroic action by everyone. That's what I think.

Tina Turner is hot.

4. Be a hero
There are lots of "heros" and leaders small-scale. Heroic action.
Our gov't leaders are spineless & heartless and too many of us are gutless. After reading on DU about all those states, cities, groups and individuals who offered aid - and were turned away - and turned away, I wondered if I'd break through the barriers with my 500 airboats or with my truckload of water or with my mini-van willing to take just 7 people out of thunderdome? I liked the 19 year-old kid who commandeered a bus and drove 7 hours to Houston.

Yep. Tina is hot.
