Which is the bigger story? Which is more important? Dickhead had been dead for awhile now, and running on life support.

1. They're both important
albeit for different reasons.

Remember, please - SCOTUS appointments are for a loooong time. * just won the lottery in that he has the capability (unless the Dems finally show some damn backbone) to completely remake the Court.

2. Let's see which gets more play from the white house. Get ready
to lower those flags.

7. They have already dragged the flag into the dirt by their criminal
lack of action in NO, they can't lower it any more.

4. Other things happen in the world. I think it's OK that it's reported.
What ar eyou trying to say? They should have held the news from us until the Katrina clusterfook is taken care of?

5. That was exactly my thought.
NO and the Gulf is a time sensitive, pressing thing we need to deal with.

Rehnquist isn't going to die any more than he already has. Bush isn't going to run out and replace him tomorrow. The confirmation hearings aren't going to happen for a while.

I am kind of appalled that we are seeing reel after reel about Rehnquist's life while people are still in New Orleans. I'm sure the people without water in Biloxi give a shit right now about the Supreme Court.

8. Yes, what a convenient time to pull the plug.
It's what they do.
