17. Actually replacing Rehnquist won't do anything to help overturn Roe |
|
Since no one he could nominate could possibly be more anti-choice than Rehnquist, you are just replacing one no vote with another.

3. Well, he's rich.....white..... |
|
I'm actually kind of certain that Bush cares more about Rehnquist's death than he does about anyone in NO.
I'm getting angrier, again. This man died in his warm bed, surrounded no doubt by family....in a room with electricity, away from rapes and murders, dry.....
I can't believe how quick they dropped Katrina for this, and for how long. Seems as if this is what we are going to hear about now.

Are hearings taking place tomorrow?
If not, I think I can wait to hear all the pointless speculation going on all three cable networks right now.

I'm sure it will pass and be put on the back burner shortly, so we can get back to the disaster and the disaster of a rescue operation.

because the big wheel keeps on turnin'. We can't just ignore everything else because we care about NO, because the Bushies won't be ignoring it. Rolling over on this won't help solve the hurricane debacle, but it will impact our country for 30 or 40 years.

he'll get a rw nutjob neocon of some type who will help bring in a theocracy and dump abortion. This is not good at all.
Yes, thousands are dead and the media cares more about this since it just happened not long ago. The news gluttony on this will pass.

Bush probably went to the hospital and pulled the plug on him just to create a diversion. The SC personnel changes of late seem to be very well timed.

We all knew this was coming. So we replacement right wing ideologue to replace the former one.
Zero-sum game.
It wasn't like we expected him to hold on another 3.5 years anyway.
The best we can hope for is that in Bush's current politically weakened position he'll try to appoint someone that isn't to the right of Sean Hannity, but I ain't holding my breath.

One right winger replaced with another. It sucks, but honestly, Sandra Day O'Connor was a greater loss than this.

ANOTHER RW mfer, how long can we really excpect our civil rights to last? "We hold these truths to be self-evident" my ass...we've had to fight for the little we DO have and now the little we do have is so imperiled.
