Security incidents in Iraq, Sept 3

BAGHDAD, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Following are security incidents reported in Iraq on Saturday, Sept 3, as of 1215 GMT. U.S. and Iraqi forces are battling a Sunni Arab insurgency against the Shi'ite and Kurdish-led government in Baghdad.

An asterisk denotes new or updated items.

AD DULUIYAH - The U.S. military said one insurgent was killed and another wounded when the roadside bomb they were assembling exploded in Ad Duluiyah, 40 km (25 miles) north of Baghdad, on Thursday.

*FATHA - Exports were halted on a major Iraqi crude oil pipeline from Kirkuk to Ceyhan in Turkey after a roadside bomb exploded on Saturday morning in Fatha, 95 km (60 miles) southwest of Kirkuk, a guard on the pipeline said. The fire was later extinguished but an oil ministry source said exports stopped completely.

BAQUBA - Four Iraqi soldiers were killed by gunmen at a checkpoint 30 km (18 miles) north of Baquba, which is 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAQUBA - In a separate incident, six Iraqi police were killed by armed gunmen at a check point in central Baquba, police said. (Increasing death toll to six from four)

*BAQUBA - Seven Iraqi policemen and two soldiers were killed and two policemen wounded by gunmen in a joint checkpoint manned by Iraqi police and army 4 km south of Baquba, a hospital source said.

*BAIJI - Five Iraqi soldiers were killed and nine wounded by a roadside bomb in Baiji, 180 km (112 miles) north of Baghdad, on Friday, police said.
