We need to scream a meme!!
We need to collectively find a meme so meaningful that it can be our mantra for the next three and a half years. We need to make it THE BEST of the best--to show the world and the RRR and the radical right exactly what we think of their motions to take over our government.

Let's find a phrase that can put into context our repulsion and hatred of this man and those who surround him. The sooner we make our thoughts into something to wrap our thoughts around, the sooner we can show all the assholes that they're the problem, not us!!

4. Nobody left Behind.
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 11:53 PM by lvx35
That's mine. Trivializing "no child left behind", it looks at New Orleans, and Bush's policies. People are getting left behind to die, not just in NOLA... whether its the poor through tax cuts, the elderly through social security destruction, etc. I think we need a positive focus, we need to move together as a whole, become a national community where Nobody is left Behind!

7. You Can't let the Fox Guard the Henhouse
The Chimp and his gang unchecked will ruin this nation. The Democrats MUST control Congress or the Chimp will not care how incredibly inept his people are.

11. All good choices!
Let's scream it from the rooftops, from the freeway blogs, from the PACs like MoveOn and People for the American Way!

The more we speak up now, the better our chances that 2006 will produce more Dems in Congress, and the higher the possibility that we will gain enough votes in House of Reps and Senate to impeach the sons-of-bitches in the white house!!!

14. I was thinking of putting up flyers around my neighborhood
No facts, no links to websites, just this talking point in huge black letters:

"OUR PRESIDENT CANNOT KEEP US SAFE FROM A TERRORIST ATTACK"

I have no more faith at this point that the average American citizen can keep more than a simple, clear, unambiguous 1 sentence phrase in their minds for more than 3 seconds at a time. We are a nation of ADD idiots who will believe anything as long as it is packaged in a nice little 1 sentence block.

The Republicans are masters of the 1 sentence block ("War on Terra", "Don't point fingers", "Flip Flop") and therefore they consistently get the idiot vote. Democrats, on the other hand, are all about nuance, logical arguments, and those pesky facts and consequently lose 3/4 of America after the first sentence.

This sentence was the only thing I could think of that was short, unambiguous, and salient and addressed something Idiot America actually cares about (unlike the fate of Iraqi citizens, American black people, vote fraud, or elitist intellectual argumentation).
