Even if it doesn't get printed, Time and Newsweek tend to count the number of letters they get on important issues and then report it. Volume counts.

Don't make it too long for Newsweek or Time. Few words with a potent punch will get their attention.

7. My paper - the San Francisco Chronicle prefers to have their

letters-to-the-editor submitted by e-mail. They have a link on their website to do that.
Check with your paper - or any paper in this country.

Go for it. It's very cathartic.
