Where was "Shoot to kill" when Baghdad was looted?
...and they were looting their museums -- the precious, irreplacable and few remains of the first civilization on earth! (Of course, NO looting was allowed near the Gas Ministry!)

(What did Rumsfeld say? Something that free people have the right to exercise their freedom by looting?! )

But when it comes to water-damaged JUNK in New Orleans being looted, well hell then -- shoot those U.S. Citizens dead!

This bothers me.
It bothers me very, very much -- and I don't even yet fully realize, in all its repercussions, why it is so troublesome...

2. Looting occurs in a democracy
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 01:14 AM by Mabus
something we are lacking in, how did Bush say it, "that part of the world"?

on edit: looting is only a crime if it occurs against an American company. The places looted in Iraq were government offices, businesses and museums, all non-American, ergo looting is allowed.

Now if the people in NO were going after office equipment in governmental offices it might have been allowable but food, c'mon, that cuts into a GOP contributor's dividends somewhere up the food chain and therefore is not allowed. Got it?
