East NOLA caller says afraid to get rescued cause of condition
of the shelters (conv. center). She has a cat and doesn't want to leave it, or evacuate out of state cause family in Baton Rouge is ok and has places to stay. She is at Alcee Forsher (sp?) 4ft. water in the st. and 1 ft in the house.

She is afraid to evacuate because of the conditions at the shelters. Do you blame her? She said she hears the copters but hasn't gone out, because she wants to control her own rescue. They took her address cause who knows when th copters will be back.

1. Wasn't that unbelievable?
What a relief for her to know that it was safe to be "rescued"...
How shameful for the evil, maniacal madmen that betrayed the American People.

2. Afraid To Be Evacuated!!!!
Think about having to make that choice. Stay in your home that's been a living hell with no food, water, electricity or sanitation along with the constant putrid smell of that toxic water...and that's far better than going to a shelter. If that isn't a damning indictment of how FEMA has botched this crap then nothing else will.

I posted elsewhere my concern now is not getting those who want to leave the city out, but those who want to stay to get out. There are people like this lady...but with guns and lots of ammo that feel the same way she does and won't go without a fight. This is going to delay recovery efforts.

Shameless and un-necessary. What more can one say?

3. That was so sad...
And I don't blame her...

She knows the hell she is in, and is terrified of the hell she doesn't. Plus, the rescuers aren't taking pets. I heard some little boy had to leave his dog behind and was distraught. He started throwing up... so sad... so crazy...

6. How sad...
...I wouldn't want to be separated from my pets either - there is no telling if you'll ever see them alive again.
