If Clarence Thomas died from complications due to cancer during 9/11...
...would they have pre-empted 9/11 coverage to discuss his death?

Personally I don't think they would give a damn but I'd like to know your opinions.

1. Yes, but probably not for the length of time they're spending on Renquist
Because Renquist is Chief Justice, and the nuclear option hadn't been dreamed up yet. One of the reasons that they're covering Renquist is that they expect the nomination of his replacement to start the filibuster/nuclear option fight up again.
