3. I don't think so
She's exactly where I was on Thursday night. Watching Anderson Cooper, I finally just broke down and then cried most of the night.

I wish larry king had just shut up, though, and let her speak. He's such a boob.

10. On the contrary I think it's completely appropriate to the situation. If
shrub felt anything like the empathy for these people that Celine Dion does, nobody would still be stranded there, that could be found at all.

This situation calls for over the top. It's an over the top situation.

2. I just saw the last few minutes of it. I think Celine
is a woman of strong emotions and cares very deeply for others. She grew up poor and has empathy. What struck me was Larry King and him trying to manipulate the moment. God, he's annoying. Sucks up to everyone. He's one of those little toady guys who follow the elite around and will gladly pick up their pet's poo for the crumbs they throw him. He thinks that constitutes respect.

8. I can't believe Larry King asked her to sing!!!
I think he was just trying to end her heart-felt rant. It was so out of left field. Why do you ask a person who is visibly worked up - and who is saying things that need to be said - and ask them to switch gears and preform?

9. I heard she sang beautifully, but I couldn't even bear to watch that part.
I was like, "WTF?"

13. She pulled herself together
And sang a totally appropriate song, but I think she was somewhat shocked to be asked to sing.

11. Very moving
She has been having to go out every night this horrendous past week and entertain the crowds at Ceasar's Palace, but she just couldn 't stand it anymore and her own levee burst live on Larry King. Yes, she gave a millin dollars, but she feels desperate and helpless that she can't hand a glass of water to somebody dying of thirst.

"Don't talk to me about money," she tells Larry. Her job is to put on a show and sing for her supper, even when she is dying inside. It is a very hard thing to do when something like this happens.

I know how she feels.

7. I thought she was very genuine
She didn't WANT to be crying on television. She just reached the breaking point at that moment. She even said, "I'm sorry to be crying, but I've been holding it in."

Every one of us feels that same frustrated, angry rage that this is happening.

If I had to go on tv and talk about this, I'd probably break down, too.

12. Never paid much attention to her until I heard about this Larry show
and checked it out, after reading what DU'ers who saw the live show said.

I've gained a GREAT deal of respect for someone I had formerly paid very little attention.

I agree with the posters who couldn't bear the tackiness of Larry's song demand. That was gross. I couldn't bear to stay in the room while she sang, either. It was NOT the right time to ask that of her.

14. She was so amazing, so passionate and you can tell she kept her
anger pent up for quite awhile, and she had the perfect venue to vent. When she said that we could fly halfway around the world and kill people, drop bombs on people, I started to applaud here as I was crying along with her.

The display of our governments inhumanity to man cannot be spun, cannot be deflected. It was evident for all to see. I am so worried about the fate of the evacuees now as I don't trust their lives in the very same hands. I am also afraid, because so many are going to be scattered that America, with its general short term memory is going to forget them. PLEASE DON'T FORGET THEM!!!!
