I have not heard much about his one lately. Something similar appeared on MSNBC on the 27th of Sept, but I can't find the article now.

SNIP...."The International Atomic Energy Agency says that a report cited by President Bush as evidence that Iraq in 1998 was "six months away" from developing a nuclear weapon does not exist.

"There's never been a report like that issued from this agency," Mark Gwozdecky, the IAEA's chief spokesman, said yesterday in a telephone interview from the agency's headquarters in Vienna, Austria. "We've never put a time frame on how long it might take Iraq to construct a nuclear weapon in 1998," said the spokesman of the agency charged with assessing Iraq's nuclear capability for the United Nations.

In a Sept. 7 news conference with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Mr. Bush said: "I would remind you that when the inspectors first went into Iraq and were denied — finally denied access , a report came out of the Atomic — the IAEA that they were six months away from developing a weapon. "I don't know what more evidence we need," said the president, defending his administration's case that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was building weapons of mass destruction....."END SNIP

Well, this is more than 16 words. I have not seen this lately. Debunked by the IAEA, in no uncertain terms.

1. They did admit that was a mistake

Somewhere along the line. But it sure is an indication of their willingness to say anything. And there's also these little ditties:

“Most of the IAEA activities…destruction, removal and rendering harmless… Iraq’s nuclear weapons programme…were completed by the end of 1992. …only a relatively small number of items… have been identified and disposed of… since the events of August 1995.” July 27 1998 IAEA Report to UN

"There is no indication of resumed nuclear activities in those buildings that were identified through the use of satellite imagery as being reconstructed or newly erected since 1998, nor any indication of nuclear-related prohibited activities at any inspected sites," Dr. ElBaradei U.N. “At only a few inspected sites involved in industrial research, development and manufacturing have the facilities been improved and new personnel been taken on.
