My mom just heard from my aunt who is in FEMA and down in Florida now |
|
They aren't even near the devistated area- my mom thought for sure they would be right in the middle of everything, where help is needed, as my aunt has tons of experience dealing with disasters through FEMA. So, my aunt said she was in offices in Florida with hundreds of other FEMA people, learning how to fill out paperwork to help people get insurance money and their homes back.
My mom started going off on some rant to my aunt about Bush and how he needs to be impeached- that people are dying and not getting the help that they need and that people needed to do more than filling out paperwork as people couldn't get their homes back anyway. My aunt freaked out. She doesn't like Bush at all so my mom was surprised. She said she was on a FEMA phoneline and on a break and couldn't say anything that second guessed anything that had happened, or that was anti-Bush. She seemed really concerned and paranoid and actually hung up on my mom in mid conversation.
I guess everyone, even in FEMA has been told to rally around Bush, stick up for him, to the point of being fearful of saying otherwise.

Repuke intimidation, even in the face of a disaster.
It would be interesting to hear your aunt's views at some point, when she's "off-duty" from her FEMA work. She'd probably have quite a few stories to tell about what really has been happening there.

to put the Best Spin on it for the Administation as much as possible. The excuse is they want to give the people hope. I know this for a fact.

|
g news for once were told to shift gears.. thursday and friday they were complaining that there was no federal help yet, but yesterday it was all smiles.. greta, geraldo and that other guy who was reporting from highway 10 all were acting differently.. it was clear that there were told to ignore any bad news and only report good news and to be supportive of pres. dumbass

Don't jeopardize your aunt's job. Now you know to check & ask if she's able to talk. So just check in the future. There are kiss-ass-mofo's who could give a shit about people! they want the fucking paycheck to pay for their lifestyle.
I have a friend who works at a VA hospital in Ohio - EEO officer. I KNOW FOR A FUCKING FACT she can't STAND Bush or ANYTHING ABOUT this administration! When I call her at work and I'm ranting, I know she can't respond like she wants. Her responses are usually things like, 'mmhmm...okay....mmhmm'
