This regime is listing right now...and there's more shots to come.

Think of what's up ahead.

- The removal of bodies from NOLA. This is gonna take weeks and I know it's gonna bring back over and over the mismanagement by FEMA.

- The Plame jury hands down indictments. Rove and Libby get nailed and the regime now has to deal with that shitstorm...as well as the major ass covering that will happen in the chattering classes as the "who know" game will begin again. Judith Miller still (thankfully) rots behinds bars.

- Cindy Sheehan's coming to Washington with maybe 250,000 or 500,000 or 1,000,000 of her closest friends. What finer way for all of us to join together to demand the accountability of this regime the corporate media won't do.

- Iraq - We're one major offensive or clusterfuck from a "Tet"...and don't think the "insurgents" don't know it. Troop morale continues to sink and now the issue of using the Guard in Iraq rather than NOLA and the Gulf Coast is going to become a big issue.

- Another hurricane? Dare I shutter to mention there's another two months left.

- Oil - The elephant in the room. Between the rise in oil and the economic impact Katrina will have, this economy is headed for some very rough times.

Yep...I say we take our time now. I kinda like 4-3 decisions.

How about some relief on that new bankruptcy bill that will ruin thousands in the south (RED) state voters...and sure will become a big campaign issue on the local front.

Remember, this disaster has a ton of local ramifications that aren't even being touched on. People were nervous about this regime's ability to shoot straight about Iraq, but gave it slack about national security and morality issues. Terry Schaivo and now Katrina have changed that and in a big way.

People are horrified by watching this disaster play out and are thinking "whatif this happened here". Folks in California are thinking earthquakes, in the west about fires and who knows what feelings will rise if another hurricane materializes within' striking distance of the eastern seaboard.

Congresscritters are really in the crosshairs right now. Supporting this regime is starting to become a bigger and bigger liability. They're gonna want to find the easy way out and do "feel-good" things to salvage their re-elections...cause I suspect there's gonna be a lot of folks going to the ballots in 2006 who are gonna want some answers and changes.

Ooooh...also forgot the fundie element. These morons are so myopic and selfish they could create a rear-guard problem for this regime. Many weren't that happy with Roberts and see that as a "moderate for a moderate". They're gonna want big payback since this is what they've been pumping millions into GOOP coffers election-after-election for decades...as well as all those votes. Piss them off at your own Red state peril.
