- Hastert - absent GOP fund-raising (is this the guy who said not to rebuild NO?)

- Trent Lott spinning for Bush on Anderson Cooper show even though his area was hard hit

- FEMA and that awful Michael Brown - unfortunately present but turning back real help according to Parish President on MTP

- Homeland Insecurity Name-starts-with-a-c and sounds like Jackoff as annoying and awful as FEMA guy

- Louisiana, and other area National Guard there in spirit mostly wishing they could come back from Iraq to help

- NO Mayor Nagin present doing all he can amidst critisism, I would have wanted to be a fly on his shoulder listening to him give an earful to POS Dumbya. Trying not to take a CIA hit.

- LA Gov Blanco - present bringing in the big gun (what's his name?) so feds can't make it a police state

- President Al Gore just wonderful!

- Houston & other TX (& across America) - present doing wonderful job helping displaced citizens

5. Many thousands of the MISSING...

Names, descriptions, and (when lucky) photos going up on Missing Lists, more than fifty of them online at last count. Staggering numbers, as many as 30 TIMES the number missing just after 9/11 -- or more, I'm just guessing and I'm no expert on stats.

Many thousands of the DEAD... still unknown and a lot of them sure to be among those in category just above. Will not know for months what actual guestimated figure is, and WILL NEVER KNOW what happened to many American citizens and visitors during Katrina's hit and the month or two following.

Many thousands very likely to get SICK from bacteria- and virus-borne diseases... impossible to guess at this time but of great concern to those who know how illness occurs after such a disaster. Possibly many quarantined for the safety of those who were NOT struck by Katrina or the government's pathetic response that caused more suffering and deaths than had to happen.

LARRY KING and MANY other musicians and artists: Not just Kanye West and Celine Dion (though their rants were helpful in drawing attention to real problems) ... VERY BUSY from the day after Katrina hit, doing more than the government to actually HELP victims. Fundraising FOR RELIEF, not political parties, by Day Five and doing a lot behind the scenes.

I think this thread deserves a nomination. This ROLL CALL needs to be completed and every soul accounted for. Accurately!
